About Us
Dance Strides Barbados is a registered educational institution established by M. Sheron Trotman in April 1994. The school started with a roll of 100 students. The business, now in its fourteenth year, has more than 400 students registered. The school provides dance instruction to students ranging in age from 3½ years to adults in the Modern, Ballet, Afro/Caribbean, Jazz, & Cardio.
Gymnastics for dance disciplines, as well as Mime and Drama workshops are offered when studio space and tutors are available.
Every year the school engages in a major project, including a professional dance concert, a children’s showcasing, the attachment of an international choreographer/dancer/tutor, inter-class choreography competition for teens or participating in the annual intensive dance workshops held every summer at Howard University in Washington DC., at which Ms. M. Sheron Trotman continues to be a regular contributor, teaching among other genres the Pearl Primus technique.
